Final Weekly Points Race Plus Lightning Sprints at Central Missouri Speedway on Saturday!
Warrensburg, Missouri — Drivers in search of track championships and top-ten points finishes will square off for the final time this season for the last night of “points racing” this Saturday. Although there are still three remaining events after this weekend, this is the last week “track” points will be awarded.
Heading into the weekend, here is a look at each of the four weekly racing divisions’ current standings. Topeka, Kansas driver Sturgis Streeter leads Stephen Clancy by 28 points in B-Mod action. Aaron Poe of Warrensburg leads Blaine Ewing in the Super Stocks as he has secured the Super Stock championship. Spencer Reiff of Kansas City also has secured another CMS championship in the Pure Stocks as he leads Terry Moss. Dustin Dennison of Independence leads David Wood in the Midwest Mods standings. Joining the four weekly divisions this Saturday will be the Lightning Sprints. There are no entry fees or “track registration” fees for any class (for the remainder of the year) other than the driver pit pass, but drivers will still be required to complete applicable yearly paperwork.
ALL drivers in all divisions must possess a current and active POWRi membership license, which is available on-site or prior to the event visiting www.powri.com. The cost of the license is $100 and must be paid prior to racing. Visiting drivers and fans are VERY STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to visit the track’s website and familiarizing themselves with the track’s “Good to Know Information” and “Track General Rules.” Both documents are located at www.centralmissourispeedway.net.
Admissions information is as follows: Adult General Admission $15, Active-Duty Military, Senior Citizens ages 65 to 74, and Students with Student I.D. $12. Kids ages 6 to 12 years $6, Children ages 5 and under and Senior Citizens aged 75 years and older are free in the grandstands. Those permanently confined to a wheelchair are free in the grandstands. ALL pit passes regardless of age or status are $35. The timeline for Saturday is as follows: The Pit Gate opens at 4:30, Admission Gates at 5. The cutoff for drivers to check-in for racing is 6:15 (late check-ins will not earn passing points). The pit meeting takes place at 6:30, followed by practice “hot” laps at 7, with racing to follow at approximately 7:30.
The Hog Roast Nationals take place on Saturday, September 16 to close out the year. There are also opportunities for fans to sponsor races and laps too! After the races, the top 10 in the final point standings for the 2023 season will be honored after the races at the hog roast, which will take place on the patio of Pub 13. All drivers, and their direct family Spouse/Children) will have a free meal ticket courtesy of promoters Earl and Susan Walls and will go through the food line first. Everyone is invited to the post-race celebration and hog roast with a gratuity tip recommended for those going through the food line. After the top 10 are honored, an end-of-season party will take place with karaoke by Char after dinner and awards.
