Hazardous windy conditions foil Outlaws program at 81 Speedway

WICHITA, Kans. — With dangerous winds above 20 mph and gusts over 40 mph, creating hazardous racing conditions at 81 Speedway, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series officials have canceled Friday’s Kansas Outlaw Klassic in the interest of safety.

This decision comes after evaluating the situation and consulting with race teams.

If you purchased a ticket in advance through the World of Outlaws for the event, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account – good for two years – to be used toward any World of Outlaws event available at WorldofOutlaws.com/tix. If a credit to your account does not work for you, then you have until Nov. 13 to request a refund.


If you purchased a pit pass at the track and wish to receive a refund, it must be mailed to World Racing Group at 7575 West Winds Blvd NW Ste. D Concord, NC 28027 and postmarked by Nov. 13.

The World of Outlaws now turns its attention to the Micro-Lite Harvest Rumble on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS. For tickets, CLICK HERE.

Brad Sweet leads the championship standings with six races remaining, including the final three races of the season at the World of Outlaws World Finals, Nov. 1-4. David Gravel remains withing striking distance – 68 markers behind.
