Corey Day wins Trophy Cup at Thunderbowl Raceway
TULARE, Calif. — Corey Day won the 29th Annual Abreu Vinyards Trophy Cup Saturday night at Thunderbowl Raceway. Day charged from 20th to second behind apparent feature winner Logan Seavey, however Seavey was DQ'd for weighing in too light at the scales and Day was awarded the feature win.
The 17-year-old Californian came into the night as the points leader and his overall performance over three nights allowed him to walk away with a 20 point edge over Buddy Kofoid and the Trophy Cup title earning him $29,000.
The event, through ticket sales and live video subsriptions raised more than $200,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Over the years, more than $2.8 Million dollars has been generated from the Trophy Cup.
